Job summary

McCoy’s is hiring a Sales Associate in San Marcos, TX to assist customers with purchasing merchandise and building lasting relationships. You will greet customers, understand needs, demonstrate products, and prepare sales orders. Revenue is processed at the register, including returns per policy.

The role requires good communication, basic math, and knowledge of building products. Some overtime and weekend work may be required, with training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• On-the-job training completed; levels 1 and 2 of positional training offered.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers.
• Consult with customers to understand needs and preferences related to available merchandise.
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise, selecting options suitable for the customer’s needs.
• Quote prices and credit terms, and prepare sales orders.
• Retrieve merchandise from sales floor or yard; place special orders when appropriate.
• Enter new customer data and sales data into a computer database to maintain relationships.
• Assist customers in resolving complaints, escalating to management when appropriate.
• Operate cash register and process payments accurately.
• Process returns and exchanges according to store policy.
• Stock and restock products, front-and-face shelves, and assist with housekeeping.
