Job summary

Heads Up Technologies is seeking a customer focused Field Systems Engineer to design, configure, integrate, test, and support advanced aircraft cabin systems. You will translate customer requirements into reliable solutions and assist with installations and commissioning.

The role blends hands-on systems engineering with frequent travel (up to 50%). A related engineering degree or avionics experience, plus strong communication, is required. Expect active customer engagement and field support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline or equivalent avionics experience.
• 2+ years of systems engineering in aerospace or 5+ years as avionics technician with customer engagement.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to customer sites and events.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Experience with audio/video systems, aircraft electronics, and wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with XML, databases, networking, and error log analysis.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Participation in on-call support rotation for nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Develop tail-specific technical documentation and configuration files.
• Collaborate with internal teams to translate customer requirements into product configurations.
• Set up and test concepts for new products and system applications.
• Create system configurations based on wiring and block diagrams.
• Provide onsite customer support for cabin system commissioning and tuning.
• Test cabin control apps using existing frameworks for aircraft installations.
• Support customers via email, phone, and TeamViewer with timely troubleshooting.
