Job summary

Kroger Co. is hiring at the Wintersville location to deliver exceptional customer experiences and maintain a safe, clean store environment.

As a Cashier/Checker, you will greet customers, process transactions, and ensure accurate tender handling while adhering to company policies and safety standards. You will work with various tenders, follow loss-prevention guidelines, and participate in ensuring excellent service, per Kroger's standards and local regulations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers to create a welcoming environment.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the check lane.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC and coupons per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits, prevent loss and follow security procedures.
• Follow policies for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs) and stay informed on pricing discrepancies.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to questions about products and promotions.
