Kroger in Pocatello, ID is hiring a friendly cashier/checker to deliver outstanding customer experiences at the checkout. You will greet customers, process transactions quickly and accurately, and operate the POS according to policy.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the checkout.
• Process customer transactions quickly and accurately at the check lane.
• Understand the POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons).
• Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Support safety programs and identify unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and notify about repairs.
• Create an welcoming environment by answering product questions throughout the store.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts calmly and with integrity.
• Follow directions and ask for help to resolve issues.
• Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
