Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is hiring a Cashier/Checker in Nampa, ID to deliver outstanding customer service. You will greet customers, process transactions, and assist with product questions in a fast-paced store environment.

Responsibilities include operating the POS, handling various tenders, and following loss-prevention and safety guidelines. Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction) required.
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in the store.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand the POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons) per policy.
• Adhere to cash shortage/overage limits and loss-prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; adhere to food safety regulations.
• Ensure a safe, welcoming environment and assist customers with product questions.
