Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in the store
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the checkout
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle tenders (Cash, Check, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons) according to policy
• Follow company policies on cash shortages/overages and loss prevention
• Adhere to guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs)
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
• Stay current with ads and promotions
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs
• Create an inviting environment and assist customers with product questions
