Job summary

Dollar General seeks an Assistant Store Manager to lead customer service and daily store operations in a fast-paced environment. You will assist with scheduling, training, safety, and ensuring policy compliance to maximize profitability and protect assets.

The role involves cashier accountability, planogram maintenance, and collaboration with the Store Manager to supervise staff, manage inventory, and drive store performance while delivering a great customer experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment is preferred.
• Six months of supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers, operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training; conduct safety meetings and ensure policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking and building displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork and safety controls.
• Assist in implementing planograms and ensure merchandise presentation aligns with standards.
• Support financial integrity through cashier accountability, cash control and deposits; sign for refunds/overrides as needed.
• Assist with store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
