Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will supervise store employees, manage merchandise, handle deposits, and support profitability and asset protection under the Store Manager’s direction.

This role involves cashiering, stocking, scheduling, training, safety meetings, and ensuring adherence to company policies. Occasional travel to Dollar General stores may be required; strong math and cash handling

Qualifications

• Strong customer service leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions and procedures manuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Follow work processes to manage merchandise including receiving, stocking, rotating and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels and security practices; handle refunds and deposits.
• Help manage store in Store Manager’s absence.
