Responsibilities include stocking, product freshness checks, price/ads awareness, and enforcing food safety standards while maintaining a positive demeanor and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products in the department and respond to questions/suggestions.
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform them of specials.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell by dates and take action.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide fresh products.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and logs kept.
• Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and report items needing repair.
• Notify management of accidents and incidents.
• Report safety risks, theft or fraud.
