Job summary

The Kroger in Friendswood, TX is seeking a customer-focused Cashier/Checker for a part-time role. You will greet customers, process transactions quickly and accurately, and follow store policies to ensure a safe, welcoming shopping experience.

You will operate the POS system, handle various tender types, and stay up-to-date with promotions while maintaining food safety and loss-prevention practices. Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred.

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers at the check lane.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Handle cash, checks, credit/debit, and loyalty offers per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention procedures.
• Observe restrictions on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow POS procedures.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Maintain food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Provide customer assistance with product questions store-wide.
• Follow all laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicts professionally.
