Job summary

Shelby Savings Bank in Lindale, Texas is seeking a customer-focused Teller to greet customers, accept checks and cash, post transactions, and provide accurate, friendly service throughout every shift.

The role requires balancing cash drawers, verifying identities, answering questions about accounts, promoting bank products, and coordinating with colleagues to deliver a consistent, professional banking experience for the community.

Qualifications

• Provide courteous, knowledgeable and professional customer service both in person and on the phone
• Ability to perform basic math functions
• Ability to read and interpret policies, procedures, memorandums, etc.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest level of service to customers and associates
• Greet every customer with a warm welcome and a smile
• Accept checks, cash, and other forms of deposit or payment from customers
• Post all transactions electronically at their terminal throughout their shift
• Answer questions from customers about their accounts
• Prepare specialized types of funds, such as cashier’s checks, prepaid access cards, etc.
• Process change orders for business customers
• Verify customer’s identity when necessary
• Count the cash in their drawer at the end of their shift and make sure the amounts balance
• Record and post night drop deposits and mail in deposit transactions
• Promote bank products or services
• Refer customers to appropriate bank personnel for products or services not offered at teller station
• Keep terminal area/window secure and clean at all times
• Report any discrepancies or suspicious activity
• Involvement in community service and/or civic organizations.
