Job summary

Messer North America, Inc. is seeking a field service technician to maintain and service contracted Messer Cryogenic Product Supply Equipment at customer sites. You will be responsible for upkeep of gas delivery systems including N2, O2, Ar, CO2, Hydrogen, and Helium in your coverage area.

The role requires strong self-motivation, the ability to work alone at client sites, and occasional after-hours calls. A valid driver’s license and a background in industrial maintenance are essential.

Qualifications

• High school degree required.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Two years of post-graduation technical classes or work experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of industrial experience or equivalent preferred.
• Navy Nuclear, Air Force Fueling, Marine Cryo or Navy Fire Control experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Regularly maintain gas delivery systems including storage tanks, vaporizers, control panels, telemetry systems in the assigned coverage area.
• Assist on customer station tank installations and removals.
• Perform corrective maintenance service calls to keep customer installations running.
• Serve as the face of Messer with customers, providing technical support during the life of a Bulk installation contract.
• Accompany sales on customer calls as a technical resource.
• Follow Messer safety policies and goals.
• Manage personal storeroom of inventory approximately $50K-$150K in rotating parts.
• Work self-sufficiently at site as the main technical resource for Messer and customers.
• Perform call-out maintenance including occasional evenings and weekends, with potential for 5-10% overnight travel.
