Job summary

Messer Americas is seeking a field service technician to maintain cryogenic product supply equipment at customer sites, including nitrogen, oxygen, argon, CO2, hydrogen and helium systems across the coverage area. You will be the primary technical resource and work with the sales team on customer calls to improve efficiency.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays. Industrial maintenance experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
• Two years of post-graduation technical classes or work experience preferred.
• Minimum two years of industrial experience or equivalent preferred.
• Navy Nuclear, Air Force Fueling, Marine Cryo or Navy Fire Control experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Regularly maintain gas delivery systems including storage tanks, vaporizers, control panels, and telemetry.
• Assist with customer station tank installations and removals.
• Perform corrective maintenance service calls to keep installations running.
• Serve as the face of Messer with customers and identify opportunities to improve processes.
• Accompany the sales team on customer calls as a technical resource.
• Manage a personal inventory of rotating parts (approximately $50K-$150K).
• Work independently at customer sites as the main technical resource; occasional on-call coverage.
