Job summary

Messer Americas is seeking a Field Service Technician to maintain Messer Cryogenic Product Supply Equipment at customer sites in the designated coverage area, including N2, O2, Ar, CO2, Hydrogen and Helium systems.

You will be the primary on-site technical resource, performing routine maintenance, responding to service calls, and assisting the sales team on customer visits. Some evening/weekend work and overnight stays (5-10%) may be required.

Qualifications

• High school degree required.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Two years of post-graduation technical classes or relevant work experience preferred.
• Navy Nuclear, Air Force Fueling, Marine Cryo or Navy Fire Control experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Regularly maintain gas delivery systems (storage tanks, vaporizers, control panels, telemetry) for N2, O2, Ar, CO2, Hydrogen and Helium.
• Assist on customer station tank installations and removals.
• Perform corrective maintenance service calls to keep installations running.
• Be the face of Messer with customers, providing technical support during the life of a bulk installation.
• Act as a technical resource accompanying the sales team on customer calls.
• Follow Messer safety policies and procedures.
• Manage personal storeroom with inventory in the $50K-$150K range.
• Work independently at customer sites as the main technical resource.
• Perform call-out maintenance with occasional evening and weekend coverage; 5-10% overnight stays possible.
