Job summary

Messer is seeking a Field Service Technician to maintain and service Messer Cryogenic Product Supply Equipment at customer sites in the Pittsburgh area. You will oversee gas delivery systems including N2, O2, Ar, CO2, Hydrogen, and Helium, ensuring uptime and safety.

Responsibilities include on-site maintenance, installation support, parts inventory management, and providing technical customer support. Travel may be required evenings and weekends as part of the coverage area.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Regularly maintain gas delivery systems in the assigned coverage area (storage tanks, vaporizers, control panels, telemetry).
• Assist with customer station tank installations and removals as needed.
• Perform corrective maintenance service calls to keep installations running smoothly.
• Be Messer’s face to customers, providing technical support throughout the life of a bulk installation and advising on process efficiencies.
• Act as a technical resource for the sales team on customer calls.
• Follow Messer safety policies and procedures.
• Manage personal inventory storeroom valued at around $50K–$150K.
• Occasional call-out maintenance, including evenings/weekends; potential 5–10% overnight travel.
