Job summary

Manifold is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with customers, understand their operational challenges, and build software that solves them.

You will own the process from discovery to implementation, embedding with users to understand workflows, translate ambiguous requirements into technical solutions, and rapidly iterate on customer-facing applications using Manifold's platform.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals: testing, version control, debugging, API development.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience building full-stack web applications with modern frontend/backend frameworks.
• Experience with relational databases, REST APIs, and external data integrations.
• Ability to prototype, implement, and iterate with minimal oversight.
• Excellent communication to work with customers and explain technical concepts.
• Willingness to work on-site with customers, including travel as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
• U.S.-based U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Own customer workflows from discovery to delivery with direct customer embedding.
• Build customer-facing applications and extend platform capabilities as needed.
• Shape the core product by translating lessons from engagements into the roadmap.
• Support pre-sales technical engagements and solution scoping.
• Own technical execution: scope, prioritize, and deliver customer-facing capabilities.
