Job summary

Lakes Gas Co. in Minnesota is seeking a friendly Customer Service Representative to handle walk-in, phone, and email inquiries. You will support customers, promote our propane services, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced, local office.

You should have strong people skills, experience with Word/Excel, and the ability to multi-task while ensuring accuracy in customer data and invoicing. This role offers benefits and growth opportunities within a family-owned company.

Qualifications

• Excellent people skills and customer service experience.
• Ability to multi-task and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel.
• Ability to learn web-based applications for propane industry.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, shipping papers, invoices.
• Willing to suggest improvements to streamline processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service to customers at walk-in, phone, or email.
• Work closely with the Branch Manager to schedule service work.
• Ability to close sales on inbound and outbound calls and emails.
• Soliciting and collecting payments on past due invoices and actively working on customer balances.
• Responsible for cash and credit card activities while performing account reconciliations.
• Processing branch mail, including trips to and from the post office to retrieve and drop off mail.
• Responsible for making daily bank deposits.
• Responsible for weekly and monthly reporting and understanding due dates.
• Monitoring and ordering office supplies and forms per company procedures.
• Promptly and accurately coding vendor invoices for payment.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds to assist customers with cylinder fills.
• Availability for limited travel within Regional Area as required.
• Driving customer retention and reinforcing strategies for growth.
