Job summary

Harness is seeking a Customer Engineer to join our Customer Engineering team in the United States. You will own complex customer cases, diagnose issues across Kubernetes, containers, and cloud platforms, and collaborate with Product and Engineering to ship fast with reliability.

Whether you're early in your career or an experienced DevOps/SRE, you’ll gain hands-on with production systems, contribute to internal AI tooling, and mentor peers as you grow in your role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a customer-facing engineering, DevOps, SRE, or platform role or equivalent depth.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes, ECS, and Docker, plus AWS/GCP/Azure.
• Solid grasp of CI/CD concepts and Linux/networking fundamentals.
• Scripting ability (Python, Node.js, Bash) and ability to read and modify code.
• Clear written and verbal communication for customer calls and reporting.
• Fast learner, comfortable with unfamiliar systems.

Responsibilities

• Own customer cases end-to-end on your team, triage, root-cause analysis, and resolution across Kubernetes, ECS, Docker, and cloud platforms; participate in customer build engagements (~20–30%).
• Contribute to customer-facing tooling and small product fixes with Product and Engineering.
• Lead or participate in customer calls and screen shares, communicating findings to engineers and managers.
• Build internal scripts and diagnostic tools to speed up casework and expand AI/LLM tooling usage.
• Turn recurring patterns into run books, playbooks, and reusable templates for the broader team.
