Job summary

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers at the check lane
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
• Handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, and other payment methods per policy
• Adhere to cash handling limits and prevent loss
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs)
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons policies
• Stay current with ads and promotions and ensure products are reflected accordingly
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management; support preventive maintenance of equipment
• Provide helpful product information and create welcoming environment for customers
