Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker at our Brownstown, IN location. You will greet customers, assist them at the checkout, and process transactions quickly and accurately using the POS system. You will handle various tender types and coupons, while upholding cash controls and store policies.

Team members support safety and customer experience daily. Ideal candidates bring basic math skills and a prior cashier or courtesy clerk background.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Cashier/Checker greets customers and assists them at the checkout.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Operate the POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC and coupons per policy.
• Adhere to cash-handling limits and loss-prevention guidelines.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; adhere to food safety regulations.
• Contribute to a safe store environment and assist customers as needed.
• Provide friendly, helpful service to all customers, including minors and seniors.
