Job summary

Kroger in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a part-time Cashier/Checker to deliver outstanding customer service at the checkout and greet customers with a friendly, helpful attitude. You will handle cash and other payment methods, process transactions quickly and accurately, follow store policies, maintain a clean, safe environment, and contribute to a welcoming shopping experience for every guest.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math.
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the checkout.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Handle tenders including cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC and loyalty offers.
• Adhere to policies on cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow POS procedures for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ads and food safety regulations.
• Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions; notify management.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer product questions.
