Job summary

Kroger in Alaska is seeking a motivated associate to assist customers, operate the checkout, and support store operations. You will process sales, maintain registers, manage price discrepancies, and ensure a clean checkstand area while upholding Kroger's standards of honesty and integrity.

Responsibilities include frontline customer service, refunds and money orders at the desk, and cooperative teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent education.
• Six months cashier experience to work at Customer Service Desk.
• Minimum age 18 (19 Idaho/19 Alaska for tobacco).
• Ability to pass drug test.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks/projects.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of company policies and related retail experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Perform cashier functions, including open/close register and tender transactions.
• Complete file maintenance log for price discrepancies.
• Maintain checkstand area cleanliness.
• Answer telephones and assist customers.
• Process refunds, exchanges, and other transactions at the Customer Service Desk.
• Provide lottery service (except Alaska) and fish and game licenses where applicable.
• Run vendor reports and support store accounting functions.
