Job summary

Kroger is hiring a Cashier/Checker in Wichita, KS. You will greet customers, process transactions at the checkout, and operate the POS system while adhering to policies and promoting a safe shopping environment.

Responsibilities include handling various tender types, following loss-prevention guidelines, staying updated on promotions, and assisting customers with product information and store guidance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in-store.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, coupons, and loyalty offers.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs) and customer inquiries.
• Monitor pricing discrepancies and report to the Scan Coordinator.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; follow food safety regulations.
• Support safety programs and report hazards to management.
• Assist customers with product questions and locate items throughout the store.
