Responsibilities

• Greeting and engaging customers to provide outstanding service.
• Process transactions at the check lane quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tender types (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons) per policy.
• Adhere to cash-handling limits and work to control loss.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Comply with food safety regulations and safety programs; identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Inspect equipment and arrange maintenance as needed.
• Create an inviting environment by answering product questions and assisting customers throughout the store.
