Job summary

Kroger in Lebanon, OH is looking for a friendly cashier to join our store operations team. You will greet customers, assist them, and handle transactions at the checkout.

You will use the POS system to process cash, checks, and electronic payments, manage coupons, loyalty offers, and ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies. This role requires adherence to cash-handling guidelines, safety rules, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering outstanding customer

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the check lane.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons) according to policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Inspect equipment and report any repairs needed.
• Provide friendly assistance to customers and answer product questions.
