Job summary

Kroger in Smyrna, TN is seeking a Cashier/Checker to deliver an outstanding customer experience and maintain a safe, clean store environment. You will greet customers, process transactions, and operate the POS according to policy.

This role requires basic math skills and prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk. You will handle cash, checks, cards, and loyalty offers while upholding loss prevention standards and customer service.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the check lane.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, OFFLINE SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers and coupons.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs) and adhere to store policies.
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Maintain awareness of ads, promotions and food safety guidelines.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about products.
