Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Customer Service/Cashier Associate at the Smyrna, TN location. You will assist customers, process sales, and support store operations while following company values of respect, honesty, integrity and safety.

You will perform cashier duties, maintain the checkstand area, answer phones, and assist with refunds, exchanges, and various payments. Weekend availability and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Six months cashier experience for Customer Service Desk.
• Must be at least 18 (19 in some states) when tobacco is sold.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Able to work weekends, varying shifts, and overtime as needed.
• Organize and prioritize tasks; know company policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and process sales with accurate cash handling.
• Operate cashier, open/close register, ring sales, perform tender transactions.
• Maintain checkstand area and promote store policies.
• Answer phones and support customer service desk.
• Process refunds, exchanges, gift cards, and other payments.
• Verify Electronic Article Surveillance tags are deactivated.
• Respond to alarm activations as needed.
• Support store accounting functions and deposit handling.
