Job summary

Kroger in Waycross, GA is seeking a part-time Cashier/Checker to greet customers, assist at the checkout, and process transactions accurately at the front end of the store.

The role requires handling multiple tender types, following company policies, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for shoppers. You will contribute to a positive customer experience and be part of Kroger's Store Operations team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Desired: Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.
• Ability to work in a high-paced environment with honesty and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Greeting, engaging and assisting customers at the checkout.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Understand and operate the POS system and handle various payment methods (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, etc.).
• Adhere to company policies on cash handling, shortages, and loss prevention.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs) and stay updated with ads and promotions.
• Ensure food safety regulations are followed and maintain a safe store environment.
