Job summary

Family Dollar in Bridgewater, VA is seeking a Customer Service Associate to deliver a great shopping experience. You will assist customers, manage transactions at the register, and maintain store cleanliness.

You will stock shelves, receive merchandise, unload trucks, and uphold a safe, friendly environment for customers and staff. The role emphasizes strong customer service, organizational skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain cash security and protect company assets.
• Keep the store stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help unload trucks; stock replenishment.
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean, restock bathrooms, sweep and mop floors, take out trash.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
