Job summary

Family Dollar in Virginia seeks a Customer Service Associate to create a welcoming shopping experience. You'll assist customers, handle sales at the register, stock shelves, unload trucks, and maintain store cleanliness and safety.

The role requires good communication, organization, and a strong customer-service mindset. Previous retail or service industry experience is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is helpful.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hospitality, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks and stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including restrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
