Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Good math skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide).
• Sound judgement/decision making skills.
• Friendly, approachable/outgoing demeanor and team player.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working and shopping environment.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service by sincerity, patience and respect in all interactions.
• Greet customers in a genuine and friendly manner and assist them by escorting to products and helping with items.
• Anticipate customer needs; communicate and respond to questions to strengthen loyalty.
• Oversee front end operations to meet sales, profit and labor goals with cost control and shrink reduction.
• Determine work priorities to maintain front end conditions.
• Ensure prompt, accurate checkout and that front-end staff adhere to policies and laws.
• Train and coach associates on front end policies including handling of product, tender and coupons.
• Communicate pricing and signage discrepancies to the pricing coordinator.
• Provide back-up coverage for the service operations manager in their absence.
• Maintain knowledge of checkout procedures, transactions, and till audits.
• Operate equipment (scanner, register, scale, check approval) per standards.
• Assist with front-end functions including checkout, stocking, bagging and cart cleaning.
• Comply with food safety, sanitation and safety regulations and report unsafe conditions.
