Job summary

KLA in Boise, Idaho is seeking an Applications Engineer to drive the development and implementation of KLA products in customer fabrication facilities. You will present product aspects, assist sales in applying products to customer technical requirements, and implement installation plans.

The role requires strong organizational and project management skills, experience in semiconductor fabrication, and analytical problem solving.

Qualifications

  • Master's level degree and 0 years related work experience; Bachelor's level degree and related work experience of 2 years
  • MS / Ph.D. preferred in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Optics, Material Science or a related field.
  • Candidate should have experience in the semiconductor fabrication industry, or equivalent experience and education.
  • Candidate must be well organized and professional with strong project management skills - including the ability to manage numerous projects at once.
  • Candidate shows persistence and dedication to understanding and solving critical customer problems.
  • Candidate will have strong analytical problem solving skills.
  • Teamwork is critical so having a good balance between technical skills and people skills is a must.
  • Experience with Data analysis tools (Excel, JMP or equivalent)
  • Semiconductor device application and characterization
  • Photolithography and Overlay (IBO, DBO, SEM -OVL)
  • Familiar with cleanroom protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing technical applications support for the development and implementation of KLA products in customer fabrication facilities
  • Makes presentations on all aspects of products
  • Assists sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer technical requirements and preparing detailed product specifications
  • Implements customer installation plans
  • Provides follow-up support in training customers and disseminating technical information on specific applications
  • Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation, design of experiments, and communication between customers and specialists
  • Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results

Base Pay Range: $83,100.00 - $141,300.00 Annually
