Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store employee who will act as the customer-facing touchpoint and help maintain orderly plan-o-grams and inventory. You will unload trucks, stock shelves, and assist customers while protecting company assets.

You will also operate the cash register, process payments, and help with store cleanliness and display setup. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred to support daily operations.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and stock merchandise; rotate and face on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers in locating items.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to total purchases; bag merchandise and collect payment.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners and help set up displays as needed.
• Maintain store cleanliness including front end, restrooms and stock areas.
