Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to act as the primary customer contact, stock merchandise, and maintain plan-o-grams. You will greet customers, assist with locating items, and operate the cash register, processing payments and bagging goods.

The role involves unloading trucks, building displays, restocking, and following company procedures in a fast-paced store environment. A high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.

• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock and rotate merchandise on shelves; restock recovered items.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise; collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
