Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an associate to act as the point of contact for customers and help maintain plan-o-grams and displays. You will stock merchandise, assist shoppers, and operate the cash register to complete sales with accuracy and courtesy.

Key duties include unloading trucks, stocking shelves, building displays, and ensuring store areas are clean and orderly. Previous retail experience is welcome but not required; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.

• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock merchandise in stock room or on sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and rotate stock on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise; collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Keep front end clean and set up sidewalk displays as needed.
