Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to act as the primary point of contact for customers, assist in setting up plan-o-grams, stock shelves, and maintain a clean, organized store environment. You will unload trucks, stock merchandise, and help customers locate products while processing transactions at the register.

Ideal candidates have high school diploma or equivalent and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and receive, open, unpack cartons and totes; stock in stock room or on the sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and rotate/face merchandise on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers in locating items.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to total purchases, bag merchandise, collect payment.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Keep store clean including floors, restrooms, and stockroom and help set up sidewalk displays.
