Job summary

Carter Bank in Martinsville, VA is seeking a Financial Services Representative to be the first point of contact for customers. You will handle everyday transactions, explain self-service options, open new accounts, and refer customers to the right partners to help meet their financial goals.

You will deliver an exceptional customer experience by engaging customers, asking the right questions, listening, and offering appropriate banking products and services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college a plus.
• Successful customer service and/or sales experience required.
• Previous retail banking experience preferred.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of banking products and services.

Responsibilities

• Provide a range of customer services including transactions and account servicing.
• Build relationships with customers through proactive conversations and needs-based recommendations.
• Identify customer needs and refer to appropriate partners.
• Resolve basic issues using bank resources and escalate complex cases.
• Support branch operations and comply with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in bank events and contribute to branch growth.
