American Electric Power is seeking an experienced Electrical Distribution Engineer to lead the Distribution Design group, overseeing technical activities, designing work orders, estimating materials, and maintaining accurate distribution maps.
The role requires a Bachelor's in electrical engineering or related discipline with 5+ years in distribution facilities design, or an associate’s with 7 years, or a high school diploma with 9 years, with a strong customer-focused mindset.
Manage technical activities such as analyzing service requests, designing and drafting work orders, estimating and requesting construction materials and equipment, maintaining mapping systems, and other technical activities.

The Physical Demand Level for this job is: S – Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Compensation Grade: SP20-008
Compensation Range: $98,993.00 - $128,688.00
