Job summary

City of Bedford is seeking a Customer Service/Utility Billing Clerk to support the Utility Billing Division by handling customer inquiries, processing service requests, and reconciling payments.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and about 1 year of related experience; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Proficiency with OpenGov Utility Billing, Beacon, EyeOnWater, IWorQ, and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1+ year in customer service, cashiering, clerical, or utility billing preferred.
• Experience with customer account management software and utility billing systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous and professional customer service in person, by phone, and by email.
• Process utility service requests, payments, and account maintenance.
• Research account activity and respond to inquiries about billing, deposits, and services.
• Maintain accurate customer records and monitor daily billing operations.
