City of Maypearl is seeking a customer-focused Utility Billing Clerk to support billing and account activities for residential and commercial utility customers. You will handle inquiries, process payments, and maintain accurate account records.

Responsibilities include establishing services, transferring accounts, disconnecting service when needed, reviewing meter reads, and assisting with scheduling field work. Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus in a fast-paced municipal environment.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of related experience, preferably in utility billing or municipal environment.
• Knowledge of accounts receivable principles and GAAP; basic cash-handling procedures.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and computerized utility billing software.

Responsabilités

• Provide excellent customer service to utility customers via phone, email, and in person.
• Assist with establishing, transferring, and disconnecting utility service; process payments and fees.
• Review and balance cash receipts; close out payment batches daily.
• Enter and track work orders for meter readers and field staff; review meter read data for accuracy.
• Maintain accurate customer account information and billing records.
• Ensure compliance with city ordinances, policies, and billing procedures; assist with disconnections as needed.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, contractors, and the public; speak Spanish is preferred.
