Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring Custom Protections Officers at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for full-time shifts from 3:00 PM–11:00 PM and 11:00 AM–7:00 PM, up to 40 hours weekly, weekends included. The role requires two or more of the listed security/public safety qualifications, high school diploma or higher education, and may involve assisting nursing staff and patient transport tasks.

Eligible candidates must be 21+ for certain roles, with uniforms and equipment provided and paid

Qualifications

• Must possess two or more of the following: law enforcement/military security background, or related public safety education.
• Education-focused requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, or degree in criminal justice.
• Military experience or public safety academy credentials are acceptable alternatives.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police/fire department in case of emergencies.
• Provide customer service and enforce site-specific policies; participate in emergency response as needed.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations; conduct regular patrols around the site.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies

Associate’s degree (or 60 credits) in law enforcement or criminal justice

Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy or verified work experience in law enforcement/corrections/firefighter field

Minimum of 8+ years of service in any military branch
