Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking Hospital Security Officers for Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. This part-time role covers 3:00PM–11:00PM and 11:00PM–7:00AM shifts, up to 24 hours per week, weekends included. You will monitor premises, protect staff and visitors, and support nursing staff as needed.

Responsibilities include patrolling, screening, incident response, and de‑escalation. A high school diploma or 5 years of experience, background check, and vaccinations are required.

Qualifications

• Prior work experience involving dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity.
• Patrol on foot, bicycle, or by vehicle to check for unsafe conditions and security violations.
• De-escalate individuals verbally and physically as needed.
• Inspect security devices and fire control equipment.
• Screen members, visitors, and staff to expedite admittance to the facility.
• Respond to emergencies with calm urgency.
• Provide safety escort and assist transport of deceased to morgue as needed.
