Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring Custom Protection Officers at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, offering full-time work at $20.00 per hour with evening and overnight shifts and up to 40 hours per week, weekends included.

Officers must meet two or more of the listed qualifications, including military or public safety academy experience, a bachelor’s or associate’s degree in related fields, or substantial military service. Uniforms and training are provided, and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must possess two or more of the following security-related qualifications.
• Military police, elite forces, or combat zone service experience counted.
• Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy or related law enforcement experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice preferred.
• A minimum of 8 years of military service or 60 credits in related field with service.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or calls police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies

Associate’s degree (60 credits) in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service
