Job summary

CPC in Minnesota is seeking a design engineer to develop products from concept to launch, collaborating with test, manufacturing, and quality teams.

You will work with sales, applications and marketing to deliver solutions for diverse OEM markets, maintaining strong customer interactions while addressing performance issues and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of design and product development experience.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or another related field.
• 2+ year of design and product development experience.

• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Ability to work independently, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge and grasp of rapid prototyping techniques and manufacturing methods.
• Energetic and enthusiastic approach toward the definition of new products, complimented by an educated and realistic business outlook.
• Competent in the design and development of plastic components.

Preferred Skills

• Demonstrated history of design innovation.
• Knowledge of designing plastic components for injection molding.
• Basic understanding of Finite Element Analysis.
• Machining experience & understanding.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Demonstrated history of translating customer needs into innovative new products.
• 2+ years’ experience in design of mass-produced plastic or machined products such as automotive, medical devices, toys, etc.
• Design experience with fluid handling components for industrial applications.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, 13485, medical device, or medical device components a plus.

Travel

• Up to 5%, domestic and international.
