Job summary

CPC (Colder Products Company) in Minnesota is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead design and development of fluid handling products. You’ll collaborate with Test, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to drive new product introductions.

The role requires creative problem solving, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects while upholding safety and quality standards. CAD tools such as PTC Creo or SolidWorks are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
  • 2+ years of design and product development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop products from conceptualization to launch.
  • Collaborate with Test, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineers in new product development.
  • Partner with Sales, Applications, and Marketing to create solutions for diverse OEM markets.
  • Interact with customers, sales managers, and application engineers regularly.
  • Lead or assist in resolving product performance issues.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and CPC core values.

Responsibilities
  • Develop products from conceptualization to launch
  • Collaborates and consults with Test, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineers in support of new product development
  • Partner with Sales, Applications, and Marketing to create solutions for diverse OEM markets.
  • Maintain a high level of interaction with customers, sales managers, and application engineers
  • Leads or assists in efforts to resolve product performance issues
  • Adheres to all safety regulations
  • Demonstrates support of CPC core values
  • Performs other job duties as required to meet business needs.
  • Comply with all Quality policies while continuously identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the process of ISO, ASI, and other certifications deemed necessary by the business.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations.

Qualifications: Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or another related field.
  • 2+ year of design and product development experience.

CAD proficiency – PTC Creo (preferred), Solidworks, etc.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills required; must be able to communicate effectively with internal departments, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to work independently, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge and grasp of rapid prototyping techniques and manufacturing methods.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic approach toward the definition of new products, complimented by an educated and realistic business outlook.
  • Competent in the design and development of plastic components.
Preferred Skills
  • Demonstrated history of design innovation.
  • Knowledge of designing plastic components for injection molding.
  • Basic understanding of Finite Element Analysis.
  • Machining experience & understanding.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Demonstrated history of translating customer needs into innovative new products.
  • 2+ years’ experience in design of mass-produced plastic or machined products such as automotive, medical devices, toys, etc.
  • Design experience with fluid handling components for industrial applications.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, 13485, medical device, or medical device components a plus.
Travel

Up to 5%, domestic and international.

  • Pay Range: USD 84000.00 - 112000.00 Annually This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
