CPC is seeking a design engineer in Minnesota to develop products from concept to launch and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This role involves interaction with customers and internal stakeholders to drive successful product delivery.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Develop products from conceptualization to launch
  • Collaborates and consults with Test, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineers in support of new product development
  • Partner with Sales, Applications, and Marketing to create solutions for diverse OEM markets.
  • Maintain a high level of interaction with customers, sales managers, and application engineers
  • Leads or assists in efforts to resolve product performance issues
  • Adheres to all safety regulations
  • Demonstrates support of CPC core values
  • Performs other job duties as required to meet business needs.
  • Comply with all Quality policies while continuously identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the process of ISO, ASI, and other certifications deemed necessary by the business.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned to support business and department needs.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or another related field.
  • 2+ year of design and product development experience.

  • CAD proficiency - PTC Creo (preferred), Solidworks, etc.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to work independently, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge and grasp of rapid prototyping techniques and manufacturing methods.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic approach toward the definition of new products, complimented by an educated and realistic business outlook.
  • Competent in the design and development of plastic components.
Preferred Skills
  • Demonstrated history of design innovation.
  • Knowledge of designing plastic components for injection molding.
  • Basic understanding of Finite Element Analysis.
  • Machining experience & understanding.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Demonstrated history of translating customer needs into innovative new products.
  • 2+ years' experience in design of mass-produced plastic or machined products such as automotive, medical devices, toys, etc.
  • Design experience with fluid handling components for industrial applications.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, 13485, medical device, or medical device components a plus.
Travel
  • Up to 5%, domestic and international.
