Job summary

WMJ Services is seeking a Custodian Team Lead to supervise a nightly crew and ensure high-quality cleaning standards across assigned facilities. The role requires leading 10+ employees, coordinating tasks, and ensuring safety and client directives are followed.

Scheduled Monday to Friday, roughly 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM, with starting pay of $18.00 per hour. The ideal candidate will communicate effectively, mentor staff, and manage shifts while maintaining a positive, professional demeanor.

Qualifications

• Prior leadership experience overseeing 10+ employees on a nightly basis.
• Flexible schedule with occasional extended hours as needed.
• Background in janitorial industry preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead a diverse team.
• Skilled in training, task delegation and motivating team to meet performance goals.
• Professional demeanor with team and client, solutions driven and respectful of client directives.
• Familiarity with budgeting, labor forecasting and basic operational planning.
• Accountable, honest and willing to take ownership of outcomes and continuous improvement.
• Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to use motorized equipment (vacuum, hand operated floor cleaners).
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and safety related materials.

Shift Time: Roughly 4:00PM – 1:00AM (Shift times may vary occasionally)
