Overview

Punahou’s custodial services provide general cleaning and custodial support to over 50 educational and administrative buildings across a 76-acre campus. During the school year, the custodial team assists with the general cleaning of classrooms, offices, and facilities utilized by over 3,600 students and 600 faculty and staff daily. During the quieter periods of the summer months, they remain highly active by implementing larger changes and improvements on campus such as top‑to‑bottom cleaning of all rooms, office, locker rooms and other educational facilities.

Job Description

Punahou School is actively recruiting a Full Time Temporary Custodian. The ideal candidate will have experience with general cleaning including dusting, vacuuming, disinfecting, polishing, and mopping of classrooms, locker rooms, training rooms, and other facilities on campus. They will be able to collaborate with others, communicate clearly, prioritize tasks independently, and adapt to a changing work environment. Position Details

• Work Year: 12 Months
• Work Hours: Monday - Thursday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM, Saturday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Schedule may vary based on operational needs.
• Minimum Hourly Rate*: $16.00/Hour. Compensation is commensurate with qualifications.
• Punahou School offers a comprehensive total rewards program that includes competitive pay and benefits. The pay rate, if displayed, is the minimum hourly rate for the position. Pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors such as knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant training and experience, and internal equity.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma and/or equivalent.
• One (1) year of recent custodial experience or related work experience.
• Experience working in a school setting preferred.
• Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Must be able to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one situations.
• Occasionally required to lift, push, pull and/or carry items and objects 45 or more pounds.
• Frequently required to stand, kneel, bend, and climb.
