Plainfield Park District seeks a part-time Custodian to maintain the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center under the supervision of the Recreation Manager of Facilities and Aquatics. Shifts are Wednesdays 5pm-9pm and Saturdays 6am-10am, with occasional event support and grounds assistance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates, supports, and enforces park district customer service standards; exercises professional judgment and displays initiative within policies and regulations.
• Ensure building is prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces.
• Clean up after accidents or illnesses.
• Maintain cleaning tools, equipment, and materials in proper condition.
• Wash and wipe down windows and walls.
• Use cleaning equipment and materials to maintain floors.
• Clean and sanitize restroom facilities.
• Replenish disposable supplies.
• Collect and take out trash and recycling.
• Report repairs and supplies to Recreation Manager of Facilities and Aquatics.
• Occasionally assist with facility grounds, including snow removal.
• Assist with event set-up, tear down and maintenance as needed.
• Maintain records, reports, and checklists; participate in staff meetings and training.

Shift times: Wednesdays 5pm-9pm, Saturdays 6am-10am.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrates, supports, and enforces park district customer service standards; exercises professional judgment and displays initiative within established policies and regulations
• Ensure building is prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces
• Clean up after accidents or illnesses
• Maintain cleaning tools, equipment, and materials in proper condition

• Uses a variety of cleaning equipment and materials to maintain floors
• Clean and sanitize restroom facilities
• Replenish disposable supplies
• Collecting and taking out trash and recycling
• Report to the Recreation Manager of Facilities and Aquatics an repairs and supplies needed
• On occasion may be required to assist with facility grounds, including but not limited to snow removal
• Assist with event set-up, tear down and maintenance when needed.
• Maintain all records, reports, and checklists as requested.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
• Performs any additional related tasks as required.
