Job summary

The Deerfield Park District is hiring two part-time custodians to share shifts at the Jewett Park Community Center (JPCC). Expect evening hours from 3:00pm to 9:00pm, with flexible coverage and shifts split among multiple custodians.

The base pay is $20.00 per hour, with potential to reach $22.00 per hour as the team covers programs and events. Responsibilities include cleaning, restocking, setting up rooms, responding to spills, and securing the building after hours.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of housekeeping or facility maintenance experience.
• Available weekday evenings and able to work independently.
• Must be 21 years or older and able to read chemical labels and SDS.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect restrooms, common areas, offices and program rooms.
• Empty trash and recycling and keep restrooms stocked.
• Set up and break down rooms, tables and chairs for programs, rentals and events.
• Respond to spills, leaks and other unplanned needs.
• Lock and secure the building at closing and follow District emergency procedures.
• Perform light painting, carpentry and maintenance; assist with snow removal as needed.
• Provide friendly, responsive service to guests, renters and staff.
• Cover additional shifts for fellow custodians as needed.

Join a supportive team keeping the Jewett Park Community Center (JPCC) clean, safe and ready for programs, rentals and events. You’ll also serve as building supervisor after hours. We are looking to hire 2 part-time custodians to share the schedule and help cover shifts as needed.

Pay rate:

$20.00

Available Shifts:

Monday - Friday: 3:00pm - 9:00pm
Hours may vary within that time frame and are kept under 1,000 per year. With multiple custodians on the team, shifts can be split and covered flexibly.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance and be on your feet for long periods of time.

Wage Range:

$20.00 - $22.00, starting pay at the base of range.
